Dr. Alrik Thiem, born the 1st of December 1981 in Jüteborg (G), first studied economy as under-graduate at the university of applied science Göttingen (G) and at University of Bath (UK). Thiem finished his master 2009 in Comparative and International Studies at ETH Zurich. 2012 he then finished his PhD at ETH Zurich as well in Political Science. From 2007 to 2012, Thiem worked as a research fellow at ETH Zurich and from 2012 to 2014 as post-doc researcher at ETH Zurich and University of Geneva. Between 2012 and 2015 he was associated lecturer for methodology in political science at University of Zurich. Following his position as Senior Research Associate at the University of Geneva he received a SNSF-sponsoring for professorship and works at the University of Lucerne since fall 2017.
