Yann Stricker studied political science, social and economic history and anthropology at the University of Zurich, from 2003-2010. He completed his MA in 2010 with a thesis on the electoral success of the opposition parties in Mali. From 2010 to 2011, he worked at the trade union Unia and the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). In 2012, he received a start-up grant from the "Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences" of the University of Lucerne (GSL). Since then, he has been a member of the research group of SNF professorship of Daniel Speich Chassé. From 2013 until 2015 he also worked as a researcher at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
