Colonel (GS) Mark Eigenheer studied Military Science at the Military Academy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and Global Security at the Defence College of Management and Technology Shrivenham (UK). For the Swiss Armed Forces, he was engaged in functions of commanding, training and planning. He gained international operational experience in deployments to respond to the earthquakes in Sumatra (2005 and 2009) and Haiti (2010). Moreover, he was deployed in a domestic flood in 2005 as well as in a security operation in 2014. Furthermore, he lead Urban Search and Rescue projects in Georgia and India for several years. His current work at the Commander & Staff Officer School, which is part of the Armed Forces College, focuses on management, information and communication training.
