Ana Cecilia graduated from the Master of Health Sciences program at the University of Lucerne in June 2018 with a major in Health Systems and Services Research. During her Masters’ program, she completed an internship at the University’s Center for Health, Policy and Economics (CHPE). She studied Nutrition and Wellbeing at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) in Mexico. Prior to moving to Switzerland, she worked with various international companies in Mexico and the USA. Additional work experience includes internships in human nutrition research (Italy), clinical nutrition (Mexico and USA), and medical technology (Switzerland).
Research
Ana Cecilia’s research focuses on Switzerland’s health insurance system, how individuals navigate it and the tools and mechanisms that could facilitate tasks such as health insurance choice and utilization. Her current project is on the concept on Health Insurance Literacy (HIL), specifically its conceptualization and assessment within the Swiss Health System. Her interests include health economics, health policy, health systems and public health.
