Stefan Boes is a Professor of Health Economics at the Department of Health Sciences and Medicine and Director of the Center for Health, Policy and Economics (CHPE) at the University of Lucerne. Before coming to Lucerne, he was an Assistant Professor of Econometrics at the University of Bern and a Lecturer in Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Zurich. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Zurich and a MSc in Economics from the University of Konstanz. During two post-doc fellowships, he visited the IQSS at Harvard University (2009/2010) and the economics departments at Princeton University (2010) and the MIT (2012).
Prof. Boes’ research interests are in the area of applied health economics and econometrics, including the study of health-related behavior and decisions, the interaction between education and health, design-based health econometrics, and health policy evaluation.
