    • Born in Lucerne in 1978. 1997: Matura leaving certificate in Reussbühl. Studied History and Political Science in Bern. 2001/02: studied abroad at the Université de Paris IV - Sorbonne. 2007: licentiate degree in medieval history at the University of Bern with a dissertation on the work of Swiss students in the German nation in Orléans (1444–1546). 2002–2003: graduate assistant on the "Diplomatic Documents of Switzerland" project. 2003–2005: worked on the research project "Rektoratsreden" (Rectors’ Speeches); student assistant in the Department of Medieval History at the University of Bern. 2006–2008 worked on the research project Repertorium Academicum Germanicum (RAG). The Graduated Scholars of the Holy Roman Empire: Theologians, Jurists, Physicians, and Masters of Art between 1250 and 1550; 2007-2008 assistant at the Chair for Medieval History at the Historical Institute of the University of Bern. Working on a dissertation on "Schweizer Studenten der Rechte an spätmittelalterlichen Universitäten" (Right-Wing Swiss Students at Universities in the Late Middle Ages).
