Transnational Law Blog in English

We now have a Transnational Law Block in English. Check it out at:

http://transnationalprogram.blogspot.com/.

We will update you on recent events and other relevant things concerning the transnational legal studies program at UNILU at the Blog. The Blog is a more flexible tool than the web page, so you can expect to read things faster there.

Also, we invite you to write for the Blog on things that you want to share with your fellow students. If you spent or are right now spending a semester abroad or are a visiting student here in Lucerne, we would like to hear from you. Please contact Xiaolu Zhang-Coenen, JD, at L_hc__ulinu--gnahz__uloaix.

The Lucerne team participating in the World Human Rights Moot Court Competition in Pretoria (South Africa) in 2009 won the final round in the Western Europe/North America region against Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) and thus ranked amongst the five top teams of the world.

The Pretoria Moot was established in 2009 in collaboration between the University of Pretoria and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Our team managed to not only be invited as one of only two teams in the region to plead in the final round, but scored an impressive victory.

We are currently completing the written submission for the 2010 competition due in August, and hope to make it into the finals again.
