Group Leader in Academic, Professional and Health Communication
Sara Rubinelli is a Senior Scientist at the ICF Research Branch at Swiss Paraplegic Research located in Nottwil, Switzerland. She works in the area of philosophy of health, and leads the group on ontology and health informatics.
Sara was born in 1970 in Omegna, northern Italy. She holds a degree in Classics and Philosophy from the Catholic University of Milan (I), and a PhD from the University of Leeds (UK) in the areas of logic, argumentation theory and rhetoric. Between 2002-2009 she was the Scientific Coordinator of the Institute of Communication and Health at the University of Lugano (CH).
Her research interests circle around philosophy of health, health informatics, strategic and professional communication. Specific areas of research and teaching include theories and models of health and well-being, ontologies for health, epistemology of science, electronic patient record systems, mass-health communication (health promotion and advertising), interpersonal communication, expert-to-lay knowledge translation, public speaking and medical curricula.
