Study of Religions doctoral programme (Dr. phil.)
Content
Research study programmes may be taken following
completion of a master’s study programme.This
serves to deepen specialised knowledge already gained, and also helps students
to grow into independent academic research work and to make their own
contribution to research in the form of a dissertation.
Scope and duration
Doctoral studies should generally be completed
within three years.
Composition/structure of studies
The research study programme is concluded with a doctorate (Dr. phil.),
consisting of a dissertation in the doctoral study subject and an oral
examination in the doctoral study subject.
Graduate School
Department for the Study of Religions students beginning doctoral studies in
the fall of 2010 or later automatically become members of the Faculty of
Humanities and Social Sciences Graduate School.

Admission requirements
Admission requirements for a doctoral study programme are the completion of
a course of study specialising in the doctoral study subject with a minimum
final mark of "magna cum laude" (5.0), together with confirmation of
supervision from a qualified member of the Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences teaching staff.
