  • 2002: Matura leaving certificate from Lucerne Cantonal School. 2003–2006: studied History and German at the University of Bern. After graduation, she completed a one-year internship in the field of museums and the preservation of historical monuments. 2007–2010: master’s programme in the humanities at the University of Lucerne. Dissertation on "Kindheit am Rande. Die Darstellung des Kindes in den sozialdokumentarischen Fotoreportagen der 1930er und 1940er Jahre von Theo Frey, Paul Senn und Hans Staub" (Childhood on the edge. The depiction of the child in the social documentary photography of Theo Frey, Paul Senn and Hans Staub from the 1930s and 40s). 2010–2011: deputy to Professor Valentin Groebner’s assistant.
    Since June 2011: academic employee of Professor Aram Mattioli working on the SNSF research project "Aussereuropäische Kulturen in Reisefotografien und Dokumentarfilmen des deutschsprachigen Raums, 1924–1986" (Non-European cultures in the travel photography and documentary films of the German-speaking region, 1924–1986) with a dissertation on "Asien im Sucher. Asienfotografie im deutschsprachigen Raum 1920–1960" (Asia in the viewfinder. Asian photography in the German-speaking region, 1920–1960).
